fall equinox circle: Awaken your inner witchFriday, September 20th, 2019 from 7pm-10pm
“If a year was tucked inside of a clock, then autumn would be the magic hour.” – VIctoria Erickson
Welcome to the beginning of the season of the Witch! This is the pagan holiday of Mabon, and Fall Equinox. This time of year heralds transition and change. As the power of the sun and nurturing energies of the Mother wanes, the dark energies of the Witch/Magician gain power. At the equinox, dark and light are in a moment of balance, offering us a rare opportunity to see life from a more balanced perspective than usual. The energies of the earth and cosmos are urging us to awaken our inner Witch/Magician to create a balance between our inner life and outer reality.
The Witch honors life and death equally, and knows how to transform material reality. She does so through aligning her will with the energies of nature and Spirit. The Witch creates the life she desires, however, unlike the enthusiastic, innocent, creative energies of the spring Maiden, she has matured through experience. She is more aware of what she is up against and how to empower herself through challenges. The Witch knows what needs to change or be cleared away in order to grow a better crop next year.
This circle is the second of harvest season, celebrating the fruits of our labors. Thus, we will share gratitude and honor the gifts of the Earth. We celebrate foods such as apples, grapes, seeds, corn, and anything else that is ripe and ready to harvest this time of year. We will honor and discuss the archetype of the Witch, perceptions of womxn’s power and patriarchy. It is an opportunity to share with others in co-created safe space what has been going on for us lately and how this may reflect the energies of the season.
We will go on a guided meditation journey to connect with our inner Witch, and manifest this vision through making corn dolly witches for our altar or home decor. We will also do a fire ritual to facilitate the changes we are making in ourselves and our lives at this time, feast and celebrate in gratitude.
