Imbolc Circle: purification & awakningFriday, February 7th, 2020 7pm-10pm
“What you seek is seeking you” -Rumi
This circle is about opening a pathway between our desires and their manifestation. We honor this time by clearing away psychic debris and awakening to our deepest desires and dreams. Following the darkness and surrender of Winter Solstice, we now are able to access a bit more clarity and can start feeling new ideas, desires and intentions stirring within. It is still a time of incubation and inner work, more so than about taking big actions out in the world just yet. That’s what spring is for. This is the point where the influence of the Crone/Wise One energy is slowly giving way to the Maiden/Trailblazer energies. We are now honoring the nascent beginnings and preparation for the new opportunities & experiences coming into our lives.
The meaning of the word Imbolc can be traced to both ‘cleansing’ and ‘in the belly’. Imbolc is an ancient Celtic festival celebrating the Goddess Brigid, Goddess of inspiration, smithcraft, poetry, healing and the home. She is revered especially in Ireland as both the Pagan Goddess & Christian Saint Brigid. Her celebrations include acknowledgment of ‘quickening’- the life force awakening and stirring within the earth. Even if the ground is still frozen, beneath the ice it is alive and preparing for the emergence of spring.
In this circle, we will practice and discuss some simple, yet effecting spiritual cleansing practices using all the elements of air, fire, water and earth as well as visualisation.
We will then do a guided meditation journey to awaken our desires and dreams, and begin the process of facilitating their manifestation. We will do some expressive arts, such as automatic writing and drawing, creating affirmations, nurturing inspiration and embodying new life! Through the sacred space held in circle, we can inspire and support each other, making the manifestation of our dreams easier and more powerful than if we were alone.
