winter solstice: rest, reflect & dreamFriday, December 18th, 2020 from 7pm-9pm (Online Zoom Event)
“Only in the darkness can you see the stars.“- Martin Luther King Jr.
The longest night is upon us. Winter Solstice is a time to honor the darkness as Source and Void, the Great Cauldron of Rebirth. It is at this time that we honor the Crone archetype and the Wise One within. We also honor our elders, teachers and mentors- those who have passed on their wisdom of experience. Our teachers may also be non-human beings, such as animals, trees, plants, elements, or guides from the Spirit World. This is a perfect time to pay homage to them and also realise the wisdom we have inside of us, from our own experience through this most difficult year. 2020 has been a year of collective trauma, and now is a perfect time to hold space for all that we’ve been through and connect with the wisdom, strength and resilience we wish to take forward into 2021.
Winter Solstice is also a festival of light, hope and Spirit. As the opposite end of the wheel from the Summer Solstice, where we honor the sun, but also bade it farewell- Winter Solstice is the time where we welcome the sun back, although it is a small spark of hope and renewal at this point, with much time yet to grow and expand into our lives.
This time of year, our physical energies are low, but psychic and intuitive energies are high. This reflects our state of being while menstruating and at the new moon. It is a wonderful time in the cycle to rest, reflect, and dream our new cycle into being. It is also an opportune time for divination and oracle-seeking.
In this online circle, we will discuss the themes of the season and the powerful astrological cycle we are entering on Solstice. We will go on a guided mediation journey to meet our inner Wise One and allow ourselves to reflect on the year we are leaving behind and what pearls of wisdom we wish to take with us into the next cycle. I will provide an oracle reading for each individual as well as the group. Let us celebrate the Great Mystery that is life, nourish our spirits and honor each others’ wisdom in the process!
